SURPA 26th Annual Spring Reception

On May 22, the Toronto Metropolitan University School of Urban and Regional Planning Alumni Association (SURPA) hosted its 26th Annual Spring Reception at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. Marking the first time the event was held at this iconic venue, the evening offered stunning views of University Avenue through the building’s glass faΓ§ade, setting the tone for a vibrant night of connection and community.

A long-standing fixture on the calendars of planners, developers, and real estate professionals, the Spring Reception welcomed guests from across the city for networking, gourmet canapΓ©s, and a cash bar. More than just a social event, the reception continues to support student success through scholarships and awards at TMU’s School of Urban and Regional Planning.

This year also celebrated SURPA’s new Equity in Planning Fund, dedicated to supporting Black and Indigenous students in the field. Backed by generous Diamond-level sponsors including Concord Adex, McCarthy TΓ©trault, and Northcrest Developments, the evening was a powerful example of how the planning community comes together to invest in the future.
