Celebrating 25 Years of ARUP in Canada
On April 10, Arup commemorated 25 years of operations in Canada with a milestone celebration held at the iconic Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto. The event brought together more than 400 guests, including clients, collaborators, and industry leaders from across the built environment sector. In total, over 175 organizations were represented, reflecting the strong network of partnerships Arup has built over the past two and a half decades.
Arup's Canadian journey began in Toronto at the start of the new millennium. Since then, the firm has expanded to four offices across the country and now employs over 550 designers, planners, engineers, and advisors. Throughout that time, Arup has contributed to some of Canadaβs most transformative infrastructure and urban development projects, including the Bloor-Yonge Capacity Expansion, Finch West LRT, Eglinton Crosstown West Extension, and the Alexandra Bridge replacement in Ottawa.
The evening featured Toronto-inspired cuisine, interactive installations, and conversations centered around Arupβs commitment to sustainable and people-focused design. Leaders from Arup reflected on the companyβs impact, emphasizing a continued focus on collaboration, innovation, and long-term solutions for communities and clients alike.
As Sean Meadows, Arupβs Canada Leader, noted, celebrating 25 years is not just a milestoneβit is a reflection of purpose in action. From advancing clean energy systems and water infrastructure to reimagining digital connectivity and the cities of tomorrow, Arup remains committed to helping communities thrive today and into the future.
